i got this e-mail today from "Bart Simpson"

Sorry if you get this message twice, haven't sent to the list in a
while, and now have to send some sad news.
Bobby (Bryde) passed away Thursday, after a fight with cancer.
I don't have any more details at this time, will forward them as I
find out anything.
I realize that I may be sending this to some people who didn't know Bobby, and if you fall into that category, I apologize, but didn't want to miss sending this to someone who might want to know.
Take Care,
Bart

<!-- toctype = X-unknown -->I knew he was sick and not feeling well - but i never knew how bad he was although he had e-mailed me about 1 month ago telling me he had to have more work done on him
BB was one of the BEST hockey and CFL guys i have ever known - EVER. he spoke his mind and didn't care if you liked what he said, or not. his thoughts were very educated and well thought out - not off the top of his head. he was abrasive - but that is what made him Bobby Bryde
on trips to vegas i would try and go see him. the last time i saw him was T-giving weekend 2004. USC hosted Notre Dame and i came over to his house to watch the game. i brought a pizza - but bobby told me he would only eat some if i didn't tell his doctor he was breaking his diet. we watched the game and talked a lot. for those who have never been to his house - UNREAL! the NHL HOF pales in comparison to what BB has at his house. he has tapes of more games than you can iimagine. come playoff time he has friends tape games of local teams for him - i taped Ducks' games this season and their last playoff run. he has a million TVs and watches them all at once
he will be greatly missed by those who knew him. his funeral will be attended by many - some sad to see him pass - others to make sure he passed trust me - he had plenty of enemies and people who hated him - and Vice Versa. Put BB and Robert Walker in the same room and only 1 of them comes out alive - and my guess is Bobby would have been the one to walk away
Frau Hockeymeister (what he jokingly called himself)
you will be missed. my guess is right now he is talking to guys like Toe Blake and Maurice Richard about some of their fave games and telling them what they did wrong in each and every one of them
